Diamond impregnated pads or “DIPs” offer cleaning and polishing in a single pad and are regularly used to maintain polished concrete. The term “Diamond Impregnated Pad” typically refers to a non-woven janitorial pad that has been sprayed, dipped or coated with diamond abrasive suspended in a phenolic resin or form of latex.

DIPs can be useful in the on-going maintenance and rejuvenation of polished concrete. They are made in a wide spectrum of grits and sizes and can be run under auto scrubbers, swing machines, high-speed burnishers.

Polished concrete flooring tend to get dirty gradually and it can often be hard to notice when they start to look dull and dingy. You’ll be amazed at how much lighter and brighter your floors will look after only one cleaning.

• Regularly dust mop with a microfiber pad to keep dirt particles off the floor. Soils act as an abrasive and can ruin the clarity and shine of polished concrete.
• When wet mopping concrete, always use clean water and clean mops. Use an automatic floor scrubber equipped with a nonabrasive pad to clean large square footage areas. Mop and bucket cleaning can be used in smaller areas.
• Use a neutral floor cleaner when wet mopping. Using water only will leave behind much of the dirt on the floor, where it will eventually abrade and discolor the surface.
• Clean spills and stains off concrete floors as quickly as possible so they don’t absorb into the surface.
• Make sure the cleaning solution you are using does not dry on the surface. This can be accomplished by cleaning small areas at a time and making sure the entire process is complete before moving on to other areas.
